Louisiana Title 29 Dependents Educational Assistance: (Louisiana residents only)

Louisiana offers education assistance to surviving spouses of deceased Veterans as well as children of Veterans rated with 90% or more service-connected disability and children of Veterans rated with 100% service-connected disability due to unemployability.

Texas Hazelwood Act: (Texas residents only)

The Hazlewood Act is a State of Texas benefit that provides qualified Veterans, spouses, and dependent children with an education benefit of up to 150 hours of tuition exemption, including most fee charges, at public institutions of higher education in Texas. This does NOT include living expenses, books, or supply fees.

Northwestern State University Scholarship Priority (Deadline: March 1, 2022)

Northwestern's second priority scholarship deadling date is March 1, 2022. Students have until that date to send any updated ACT/SAT scores or GPA changes to them for academic scholarship opportunities. 

For students to possibly qualify for an academic scholarship, students must have a minimum of a 20 ACT composite and a 3.0 GPA.

PB&J Scholarship (Deadline: May 31, 2022)

Who is the scholarship for?

This annual scholarship is for students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed. With no GPA requirement, students are encouraged to apply as this scholarship is meant to be inclusive. 

Eligibility:

- Current senior

- Plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college next year

Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship (Deadline: Oct. 31, 2021)

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 33rd class in 2021, the Foundation has provided over 6,450 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $75 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.

National Rice Month Scholarship (Deadline: Oct. 31, 2021)

The National Rice Month Scholarship Video Contest is an opportunity for graduating high school students living in one of those six rice-growing states to tell a story about U.S. rice. Create a video or animation that in three minutes or less, shines a light on this versatile, tasty, home-grown grain.  Educate, entertain, and tell us why you think rice is special – to you, to your state, or to the world!

Heisman High School Scholarship (Deadline: Oct. 19, 2022)

The Heisman Memorial Trophy is renowned for symbolizing the pursuit of excellence with integrity. The Heisman High School Scholarship, presented by Acceptance Insurance, extends the Heisman prestige to our nation’s most esteemed male and female high school seniors by recognizing and rewarding outstanding scholar-athletes who understand that the most important victories not only happen on the field but in their schools and communities. Women's Ministries Scholarship Program (Deadline: Oct. 15, 2022)

The General Conference Department of Women's Ministries (GC WM) scholarship program is established to give scholarships to women who are committed to serving the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who would otherwise be unable to afford a Christian education. Scholarship awards are based on academic achievement, financial need, and community outreach. Specific amounts of scholarship awards vary each year and are dependent on the amount of funds available. Scholarships may only be obtained through your home divisions.

The Driven Decade Scholarship (Deadline: Sept 30, 2021)

This $1,000 scholarship was created to reward those in our community who have a clear vision of where they might want to end up or who they want to become. In approximately 750-1,000 words, respond to the following prompt: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? Tell us about where you might live, what occupation or career you may have, or any other kind of goals you aspire to achieve within the next decade of your life, and how you might plan to get there.

Because College is Expensive Scholarship (Deadline: Sept. 30, 2021)

The $500 “Because College is Expensive” Scholarship is open to all students and those planning on enrolling within 24 months. The finalists will be asked to provide their FAFSA information and the winner will be chosen after evaluating the merits of their application.

The Gates Scholarship (Deadline: Sept. 15, 2021)

The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to 300 of these student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential.
